Slam-Dunk-n. 1) A basketball move sometimes performed in games and other times in contests, which make all those in attendance question their beliefs about the possibility of human flight. 2) A basketball move intended to trump and/or embarrass opponents whilst causing the spectators’ jaws to hit the floor. 3) A sure thing.

Ever since his first retirement, analysts and commentators have openly speculated about who is going to be the next Jordan. From his marketing prowess to his unmatched greatness on the basketball court, Jordan is the player that all others are judged by.
There have been numerous contenders for the ultimate title, including Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, Kobe Bryant, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, LeBron James, and Dwyane Wade. Each one very talented but none of them have ever completely filled the void left by his Airness.

Most teams around the Association have enacted the same process for going about building a team that has a great chance of winning games. They use the same basic outline and then add a few spices to the mix in order to attain the ultimate glory.

Ron Artest has recently announced that he will be signing with the NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers for 3 years and around $18 million. The Artest move trumps the Pistons move of signing of Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva. The Lakers have effectively upgraded the spot left open by Trevor Ariza, who is switching spots with Artest by leaving for Houston.

The news broke recently that the Pistons have agreed in principle with Charlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon for 5-year deals. These deals either directly or inadvertently impact the rest of the teams in the Association.
